Horse & Sword: Marauders
Addicus is a young squire, looking to climb above his status in his quest for power and stability over Calradia. He intends to install a regime that allows his dynasty to live in luxury for many generations, while allowing the smallfolk to have some say in their own lives. With these outrageous ideas, he quests, and for wealth, power, and support for his measly claim.Born a noble, but left homeless after a band of marauders aided a peasant revolt that left his family and home burned. He was spared by a farmer, who’s family had been aided by his own, and who’s wife failed to produce any sons. Hidden away from the revolt, the infant Addicus never knew his parents and was raised a farm boy. The man he believed was his father only revealed to him his true heritage when he was 10. Now 15, Addicus has spent the last 5 years doing his best to train in the ways of court and sword. The night after his father informed him of his true heritage, Addicus fled, and sought apprenticeship from a retired hedge knight, Leon, and spent his free time learning the ways of court from the old knight’s wife, Ada, who had been a handmaiden. The aging couple also housed young Addicus. He promised that he would pay them back, by making them noble, when he was king. They, unknowing to him, thought his story was complete hooey, and spent as much of their time as possible teaching him important life lessons. Now 15, he had scrambled enough money together from odd-jobs, and a little from Leon and Ada, to buy himself some gear. He would go, and reclaim his family’s lost land, and perhaps, if he could, much more.
